Christmas vacation

I feel like I had a super-long vacation. I was in California for a whole week, came back to DC and worked for two days (half days, actually), then we got a four-day weekend because of New Year's Day and President Ford's death. Anywho, I'm finally getting around to posting my pictures from Christmas. It was nice being back in farm country. I miss the wide open spaces and all the farm animals. Here are a few pics I took throughout the central valley.

People are very patriotic in the valley. You see a lot of this sort of thing.

The rock up on that hill is called Lover's Leap. Legend has it that a pair of young Indians were in love, but their parents forbid them to marry, so they jumped off that rock into the ravine below.

Went ice skating with some friends up in Long Barn. We went the Saturday before Christmas, so the rink was completely empty.

Lacey is much better at balancing on skates than I am. Show-off.

I had no idea Clark Griswold lived in my hometown!

My nephew Alex. Why are footie pajamas so darn cute?

My brother, acting like a dork.

My nieces are eagerly awaiting the opening of the gifts.

I think they're disappointed that this one isn't for them.
