Arlington Cemetery

Yesterday I braved the extreme heat to visit Arlington National Cemetery. I was actually surprised at the number of tourists there, considering how hot it was. And even though I've been there many times, it's always a moving experience.

The gravesite offers a great view of the city, so it's a natural choice for photo ops.

Luckily the cemetery is not lacking for shade.

The Capitol at Sunset

I was walking around the Capitol as the sun was going down the other day and got some great shots. Dusk is such a good time to photograph because the lighting is so dramatic.

I always laugh at the Segway tourists.

I'm not going to lie - I love how this one turned out. The lighting, clouds, and composition are fascinating.
