Blue & Gold

I've been to the Naval Academy several times before to see the Blue Angels (see the pictures here and here). But I've never taken a formal tour before. The parents were in town so we decided that would be a fun activity. It was very fascinating! I recommend it to anyone who's in the area.

My niece's Flat Stanley tagged along for the trip.

Bill the Goat looking very fierce.

The lovely chapel, which unfortunately is closed to the public on Saturdays.

Captain's Row, where all the department chairs live.

Bancroft Hall - allegedly the largest dormitory in the world.

Many of the buildings are designed in the Beaux-Arts style.

This is the entryway of the dorm. I don't know about you all, but my dorm didn't look like this!

All the Midshipmen out on their sailboats...

After the tour we had lunch in historic downtown Annapolis. I only wish we had more time to walk around!
