Gamble House

After our hard work on the Rose Parade float, we spent some time in Old Town Pasadena sampling a few local restaurants and touring the historic Gamble House. I first learned about the Gamble House when I took an architecture class in graduate school; it's a landmark example of the Arts and Crafts style houses of the early 20th century. I remember thinking in class that it looked familiar....that's because it was used as Doc Brown's house in one of the greatest movies ever made, Back to the Future.

The house is filled with beautiful stained glass. This is the front entrance.

I love old timey kitchens!

The Gamble family had their own gas pump in the garage (which is now the gift shop).
