I left my house bright and early this morning for a volunteer briefing at Walter Reed. I didn't get a chance to take a lot of pictures there, but I did snap a pic of the chapel, which is beautiful.
Then I met Lacey for lunch at Eastern Market, and we walked around a bit.
And she played with some finger puppets. (I'm sure she's going to love me for posting this picture.)
How many Spiderman puppets can you find?
We tried some free samples of local produce. Delicious!
And we checked out some handicrafts at the flea market.
We parted ways, and I went on to the U.S. Botanic Garden to see the annual orchid exhibit. Here are a few of my favorites. (You can check out the rest of my orchid pictures on my Picasa album: http://picasaweb.google.com/lwaayers/Orchids.)
Since I was right across the street from the Capitol building, I walked around some and took more pictures. Along with the rest of the world.
