Farewell, RFK

Today was the last baseball game ever at RFK Stadium.
Quite frankly, it's a dump and I'm not sad that I won't be going back. The new stadium is going to be so amazingly awesome; I can't wait till next spring. (Be sure to check out the construction webcam.)
Before the game, they had old Washington Senators players come onto the field. The great Frank Howard is at third base with Ryan Zimmerman. One of their old pitchers threw out the first pitch, but unfortunately I didn't catch his name because of the craptastic sound system.

The pink backpack: a popular form of rookie hazing.

Darla, Lacey, Laurel, and me.

Chad Cordero getting the last out of the game. The Nats won 5-3.

Good job, boys.

The players lined up to give their game jerseys to the lucky fans on the first base line.

Manager Manny Acta and owner Ted Lerner dig up home plate to be placed in the new stadium.

And that's the end. Farewell, boys of summer. I will miss you. And farewell, RFK. (I won't miss you.)
